Careful and found layers deduced the mound had been used and reused for burials. James hutton (1726-1797) in his theory of the earth. (1785) suggested that geological events caused layers to form in the past were the same events were taking place now. Charles lyell (1797-1875) wrote principles in geology (1833) that strongly supported the theory of uniformitarianism. Events and objects in the past could be compared to present. Jacques boucher de perthes (1788-1868) published (1841) evidence the human artifacts were in context with extinct animals- before the biblical flood.
