Vm is the total volume of the mobile phase. Dextran blue is above the fractionation range of the sephadex g-75 so its elution. Phenol red is below the fractionation range of sephadex g-75 so its elution volume =vm=56. 0ml. So when calculating k for hemoglobin separated by sephadex g-75 the vr obtained is 17. 0ml, vm is 56. 0ml and vo is 14. 0ml.
