Measurement error influences result of study test given but does not get at one"s knowledge of subject. Questionnaire given to assess athleticism but elite athletes getting low scores survey that asks about pa but participants can"t remember what they did. One person does all measurements chose gold standard measurement since it"s most valid and reliable reliability and validity can influence internal validity. Jill interested in examining association b/w physical activity and physical fitness. Appropriate design can do cross sectional design. How to measure 2 variable of interest. 2 variables: exercise group and control group. Physical fitness: use fitness tests or do 1rm/vo2max. Extent to which test measures what it needs to measure the soundness of interpretation of test results. Different kinds of validity logical content criterion construct.
