Girls: 13-15 (1830s) regional variations, higher in scotland and london. Later age of puberty increases the odds that she is more able to survive childbirth. Not about medicine, very little happening in 18th century medicine to improve chances of living. Cheaper to work slaves until they died and then buying more. Produce more food to feed population, population grows so you need to produce more food etc. Agriculture includes raising of animals for human consumption.
