Document Summary
We have already discussed reasons for studying non-human primates. We are closely related to them; we share an evolutionary history; and the fact that many of our behavioral adaptations are found among other primates helps us make better sense of the behaviors that appear to be distinctly human. We walk on 2 feet, the only primates to do this. We are bubble headed, all skull they have large faces and small heads. We have small faces and large heads. We are closely related to chimps and apes. More with gorillas and chimps than the others. Many of our good adaptations are the same. But there are aspects of human life that can"t be better understood by studying chimps!!! Imagine a world where the relationship between us and the gorillas and chimps and apes was different. Go to the land of the planet of the apes. Movie the apes are clothed with different styles and humans aren"t the apes walk upright.
