Ethnocentrism glorifying one"s own group while vilifying other groups: can influence framing effects. Intergroup conflict can be reduced by forcing groups to work together and depend on each other. Social identity theory a person"s self-concept and self-esteem are drived from: personal identity + individual status/accomplishments, ingroup"s status/accomplishments.
