Document Summary

The word law is defined as the rules enforced by the state, and the state has the force to enforce sanctions that make us obey at those rules. Rules regulate the way people behave in society and so they create an order in society. In fact, there are verbs that are permissive and verbs that are prohibitive. The united kingdom is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy, and it has three legal system: english law in england, northern ireland law in northern ireland, and scots law in. But while english and northern ireland law are based on common law and so a law made by judges through the system of precedent, scots law is a hybrid system based on civil law and common law elements. So common law derived from judicial decision, it(cid:1088)s a law judge-made, and it is in contrast with the term law of equity.
