Physical light elevates the sprint and brings people closer to the divine. Increases the volume of light with a pointed of arch. Structures everything so that the radiating chapels are brought in closer together and come right in off of the ambulatory: brings in more light and seems physically lighter. Flying buttress: supports the weight of the walls from the outside, webs of stone, give greater height, light, and lightness of structure. Round-headed arches are replaced by the pointed headed arches. Three stories, no gallery and space because it is more narrow. The upper story has gotten more bigger and thinner.
