A victim of domestic violence placed a 911 call to the police for help. The first part of the call involved the imminent safety of the caller. When it was established that the perpetrator rode away on a bicycle, the rest of the call concerned the identity of the perpetrator and the relevant circumstances. A timely objection has been lodged against admitting the call. The county coroner did an autopsy on a 72 year-old male. After the autopsy, the coroner concluded that the decedent died from strangulation. The prosecution offers a forensic pathologist to testify about the autopsy report in a subsequent murder case. Most statements made to people other than the police are not considered testimonial.
