The kings got out a map of europe and drew out territories. Each king got full sovereignty over their land. This was the birth place of a modern day start. Sovereignty the principle of this was created in this treaty. If you are a king at this table, you now get 2 things in your principality/kingdom: full authority to govern (no over arching authority) and autonomy from other kings trying to interfere in your kingdom. Kings had absolute authority over their territory. This changed the political system from hierarchal to anarchical. There are 193 states in the international system. The youngest is south sudan (2011) in a cession from sudan. Territory = country (the silhouette of the land mass with borders)
