Can be minimalized if the leader is okay with personal opinions and asks for everyone"s idea. Prejudice- strong, unreasonable dislike or hatred of group, based on negative stereotype. Composed of three components: beliefs (stereotypes, emotions, predispositions for action (discrimination- negative behavior) (e. g. racism, ageism, sexism, heterosexism) Some social roots of prejudice are: social inequalities. Just world phenomenon: us and them: ingroup and outgroup. Scapegoat theory- theory that prejudice offers an outlet for anger by providing someone to blame. Cognitive roots of prejudice: forming categories, remembering vivid cases, believing the world is just. Altruism unselfish regard for welfare of others.
