Written and drawn history prove evidence that this category of plants were used for landscaping outside temples: the greeks also used these plants. Would come back in with their ships filled with plants: up to the 14th century ornamental plants were used for landscaping. Combined in the landscape: during the renaissance period this began to change, during the 18th century people began to increase their interest in ornamental plants. Traveled to europe to bring back new plants.
