Vision is the one sense that when babies come out of the womb is not greatly developed. If a reflex is missing, this may indicate a neurological problem for the infant: get a sense of how well babies brains are working early on, reflexes. Development of motor skills: gross motor skills: involve large muscle groups, e. g. , the arms and legs. Head & neck: shoulder - raising the head, shoulders - roll over, arms & chest, hips, allows them to sit up, thighs, beginning of crawling, lower legs. Starting to stand up: feet, being able to walk. Then once they do walk we look at who they are moving towards. Should have first dentist visit when teeth begin to emerge or no later than age 1. Illness and injuries: vaccinations prevent many illnesses, when parents refuse to vaccinate children, illnesses have broken out -- putting other.
