Born either male or female but learn to associate with one or neither. Stereotypes: oversimplified expectations of what it means to be a woman of a man. Characteristics, attitudes, feelings, and behaviors expected of males and females. Main status or role that we fall into. Ex: teacher students expect that he/she will show up to class on time with a lesson prepared to teach. One"s perception of themselves as either masculine or feminine.
