Air rises temps drop rh up clouds. When this happens, there is this release of latent heat. Clouds are visible collection of tiny water droplets and/or ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. They are composed of both water droplets and crystals billions and billions of each! Cumulonimbus clouds are the producers of severe weather: tornadoes, thunderstorms, all possible. Adiabatic process: in discussing rising and sinking air, we will be talking about air parcels, this whole process (below) is called adiabatic expansion and cooling, expansion is doing work on the environment .
