It deals with preventative rather than curative aspects of health. It deals with population-level rather than individual-level health issues. The science that feeds public health actions. The study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states or events in specified populations. Population - a group of individuals having a quality or characteristics in common. Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity . Distribution is involving some or all of the following characteristics: Determinants = factors that cause health-related states or prevent their occurrence. These applications provide a basis for public policy and regulatory decisions related to the environment and to the delivery of health and human services.
