Documented the fall of the qin dynasty and the beginning of the han dynasty. Tried to portray the han dynasty as better than the qin. The han dynasty as something that sprung up out of the excesses and oppression of the qin. Accused of treason and given the choice of death or castration. Chooses castration so that he can continue his work and honor the legacy of his father and create his own legacy. Talks about the nomads to the north and south. Not as monsters like the greeks did. Simply described the things they did and the things they had. The xiongnu loved chinese culture and tried to imitate it. Zhao gao chose the youngest son of the qin emperor to act in his place. Tried to make him think he was crazy and drove him to suicide. Han dynasty was as harsh as the qin. Very quickly ramped up taxation and punishments.
