Each http request is independent of each other! Storing things in your local storage can be accessed in every web page! 3 primary places: message body, request line, headers. Simple short pieces of data stored on a user"s system often in a file, or a directory. Do not store actual data to be tracked but an id that references data stored on a server. The cookies aren"t the cause of getting your sessions stolen/hijacked, the person is! But we have to solve statelessness, else we can"t do anything meaningful! Implies being able to uniquely relate the activities of a particular user. In some sense, to have state is to have memory of someone and their activities. E. g keeping track of things in your shopping cart. If i had a unique identifier, it does not break your perception of anonymity on the internet.
