4th year, studied computer science at ucsb. Morocco: father"s family is from the city of fez. Came for one year to teach arabic to beginners. Completing phd in history: sometimes teaches. Maurice: not a matter of social issues, rather it is a matter of the land in which you live. Faisal: distinct forms of community to which you belong. Victor: speaks arab, loves arab food, and enjoys arab music. Munther: problematic due to the number of people that identify as such. Sarah: only sure of role as evolutionary anthropologist, sees arab as another identity. Munther: tunisia - ability to raise family with an open mind. Abderham: big culture shock due to never having been abroad. Maurice - not a big shock coming from lebanon as the culture has becomes westernized. The shock was to experience these things rather than to read about them. Victor - some people believe trump should be elected as a revenge plot.
