We spend the most money on natural gas-electricity. There is excessive energy use at most of the buildings on campus, especially those with labs. However, as ucsb moves towards renewable methods for energy, the school"s consumption level and reliance on fossil fuels will decrease. Yes, the cost of energy depends on the time of us and the rate for the energy changes accordingly. I try to support and purchase from products and companies with a mission statement that i agree with. Sustainability fits into these decisions as i try to choose sustainable options than not. My purchases indicate my strong opinions about sustainable efforts as reflected by my values that i hold. Vote with your dollar means that what you buy is what you are supporting and encouraging within society. Sick building syndrome is when the indoor environment is harmful to the occupants of the building and they exhibit physical symptoms that conclude the negativity of the surrounding.
