Vectored by ticks (in california ixodes pacificus) Vertebrate hosts are hosts for larval and nymphal ticks. Dead-end host (from the pov of bacteria) A host from which infectious agents are not transmitted to other susceptible hosts. We don"t have enough bacteria in our blood to infect a biting tick. Much easier to treat if it"s caught early.
