Document Summary

Theoretical yield: idea that the reaction is going to go 100% perfect, find limititng reagent. Percent yield: based on what actually happens, actual yield is given or determined in lab report, to get percent yield. Actual yield/theoretical yield x 100: determines how well the reaction is going if everything was perfect. Solution: solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. Can be broken up into two major parts: solvent. Solvent is the component that is present in greater quantity: chemical definition, the thing present in greater quantity, can be a solution of metals, doesn"t have to be li(cid:395)uid. Solute is the component that is present in lesser quantity. If pour powder into water, and power form remains = insoluble: ionic compounds. When dissolved in water some will do dissociation. Water: oxygen is slightly skewed with hydrogens, not linea(cid:396) shaped it is bent shaped, oxygen has partial negative charge.
