Results from obstruction of superior vena cava by tumor or thrombosis. Lung cancer, non-hodgkins lymphoma, metastatic breast cancer. Distention of veins of head, neck and chest. Headache, dizziness worse bending or leaning over. Cancer in epidural space or spinal cord. Common causes breast, lung, prostate, gi and renal, melanomas. Intense, localized and persistent back pain w/ vertebral tenderness. Autonomic dysfunction (change in bowel or bladder function)
