Going up and down the stairs: tell them no (opportunities for negative exchanges) Walking, grasping, using crayons, forks, cups etc. Normal distribution in terms of the mastery of these skills in terms of when, this is normal. Pediatric community likes to tell you the percentile your kid is in when it comes to walking and talking, it just means that there"s a percentage of kids who lag more than others, just genetics. Help parents manage their anxiety and help them realize that it"s okay to be slower in development. Bombarded with numbers throughout your life that people are mislead to understanding. Locomotion and the need for self assertion and mastery! Everything that toddlers do have to do with asserted themselves and master in a certain way. Self assertion and mastery help us provide tools and info to master things in the future.
