Exits: launching of children, dying of elders etc. Entrances: children getting married, children having children etc. Developmental stacking: all of the different family events occurring in various generations. Stacking up of stress events through the generations these are horizontal stressors the vertical stressor determine how the stress is managed. Hostile emotional climate or poor family legacy will make the management of these stresses ever difficult increases the amount of system stress that needs to be managed. Middle adults are the center generation and therefore face the most developmental stress to have to cope with. Ordinary difficulties, but become problems if not managed properly. Parent/child issues: the parenting of adolescents managing the individuation process. Most stressful stage by far for the parent because there is so much to be anxious about.
