Not all of the diet aids in uchc are registered dietitians, and in speaking with the manager i learned it is not a requirement of the job because of how efficient the system is. He is more focused on customer service as a requirement for the position. One patient conversation i observed was a patient on a renal diet. The patient requested ketchup with his meal, but adding the additional ketchup would have put his sodium way over the daily limit.
