Document Summary
No o2 present glycolysis fermentation. O2 present glycolysis tca cycle etc. Digestion glucose and nad+ glycolysis 2 atp, 2 pyruvate, and nadh fermentation . If it can be convertible to pyruvate then it is used as energy. If it can not be convertible to pyruvate then it can"t be used by cells. If it can be split in two, it is a separated into two enzymes (a monosaccharide) If it can"t be split in two, then it can"t be used by cells. To regenerate nad+ keep glycolysis running . In the yeast, lactose cannot go through glycolysis because it doesn"t have an enzyme to break into disaccharides. (this varies depending on the organism and its stage of development) Fructose is a step in glycolysis, and also has its own pathway (fructolysis), has one less carbon and can be broken down faster. Boiled yeast should produce no co2 because the proteins have denatured.
