Termination of an entire tribe is not possible they only terminated federal recognition of the tribe. A concurrent resolution said that all tribes in certain states should be free of certain federal controls side effect: took away tribes" federal support for things like sanitation, law enforcement, health care. In california, the state, not the federal government, had jurisdiction over tribes. There was also no tax base for these tribes the states weren"t collecting any money from the tribes, so they didn"t do anything for the tribes. 1955, bureau of indian affairs (bia) relocation office, established in san jose, ca. Indian tribes were just starting to recover from the recent flu epidemic. Reservations don"t have the work-related development to employ citizens of the tribe federal government decided the best way to deal with this was a relocation policy that included jobs training.
