Primary cartilaginous joint: hyaline cartilage lies b/w bone: epiphyseal plates b/w epiphysis and diaphysis. Secondary cartilaginous joint: covered by hyaline cartilage but flat disc of fibrocartilage lies b/w them. Intervertebral disc and the symphysis: discontinuous (diarthroses) joints, freely moveable joints, also called synovial joints, consist of: Fibrous membrane (outer layer) and synvoial membrane (inner layer) May also have: articular lip, meniscus, ligament, disc, or bursa: amphiarthrosis joints, slight movement between bones.
