Document Summary

Love to a child is comfort, safety, and security. While food is necessary to survival, most of the time a child would seek for comfort, safety, and security. It doesn"t matter if your mom is your natural mom. Motivation: motivation: is defined as the process by which activities are initiated, directed, and continued behavior so that physical and psychological needs are met. Motivation theories explain why we do what we do: there are 2 types of motivations, extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic motivation (from the outside): occurs when we do something to either get or avoid something from the environment. We perform behaviors to get a pay check or we perform behaviors to avoid getting a speeding ticket. Intrinsic motivation (inside): occurs when we do something to either get or avoid something internally. We perform behaviors to get a feeling of achievement.
