Please, study the brs, the powerpoint, and your lecture notes! Prophase is the first stage in cell life cycle. G1 -cells are active and grow and centrioles then begin replication. S phase - dna replicates itself for the future two daughter cells having identical genetic material. G2 - enzymes needed for cell division -> centrioles finish replication -> cells get ready to divide. Chromosomes are formed - each chromosome has 2 identical chromatin threads. Protein complex, cohesin, and centromeres hold the chromatids together. Metaphase - chromosomes form a metaphase plate. Anaphase - v shaped chromatids are pulled apart. Cytokenesis - brief moment when one cell may have two nuclei.
