Over estimation is better than underestimation (this is the hard part) Insert: bar chart 2-d sideways chart, you can pick whatever you want this is just what she selected. Right click on chart: select data, legend-- add. Horizontal category edit select all the tasks hit okay. Tasks are in reverse order format axis: categories in reverse order check it. Don"t need blue part all you need is orange: click on blue, right click format data series, hit bucket feature no fill. Fix dates so that there is no gap: drag first date to an empty slot and change it into a number, do the same for ending date. Right click on first date i and insert these numbers as the minimum and max numbers. Excel has its own version of a gantt chart. Extremely detailed compared to the one we just made in class.
