Chapter #5 of k-12 classroom teaching: a primer of new professionals. Personal thoughts on information: the common core focuses on english language arts, mathematics and science. Objectives are more specific goals that can be steps to the overall goal: textbooks are not the only source you can use to teach. There are many other resources such as the internet, guest speakers, and multimedia: long-range planning involves keeping the specific kids in mind as well as their abilities. Yearlong planning involves pacing yourself so all the information is taught before the end of the year and nothing is rushed. Unit planning gets more specific and lesson planning is even more specific including times: the six elements of a lesson plan included: I like how specific this chapter was about lesson planning. I didn"t realize so much time would go into lesson planning and now i understand why teachers have free periods.
