How does language develop of phonemes, vocab, syntax. Doesn"t have any inherent meaning by itself, but when you put phonemes together, they can make words. Provide evidence of innate maturational processes that aid language acquisition. Critical crucial time during which an individual can acquire some language. Sensitive capability can be acquired after the period but only with difficulty. Innate factors and environments or social factors work together to help the child capability if presented w/ adequate stimuli learn the language. The structure of a language determines or greatly influences the modes of thought and behavior characteristic of the culture in which it is spoken. One"s language determines one"s conception of the world. Use body language as well as sound and smell in order to communicate with one another. Communicate by smell: they release pheromones (airborne chemicals) to send messages to others.
