Page 50 most of our ills are our own making preserving the simple and solitary lifestyle prescribed to us by nature. If nature has destined us to be healthy i almost dare to affirm that the state of reflection is a state contrary to nature and a man who meditates is a depraved animal. Page 64 reason is what engenders egocentrism and reflection strengthens it. Reasoning turns man in upon himself separates man from all that troubles and afflicts him philosophy is what isolates him perish if you will.
