Wind speed and direction cloudiness (cid:862)climate is what (cid:455)ou e(cid:454)pect, weather is what (cid:455)ou get(cid:863) Sensible heat flux: heat transfer which changes temperature. Latent heat flux: transfer of energy which results in phase change (temperature does not change) Relative humidity = actual vapor pressure/saturation vapor pressure x 100% How to saturate air with water vapor: add water vapor to air, decrease temperature of air. How to change air temperature: absorption/loss of energy (radiation, conduction, sensible heat, mixing warm and cold air (convection, changing phase of water, diabatic process: energy is removed from or added, adiabatic process involves changes in pressure. *compressing air heats up, expanding air cools down* Dew point = where clouds form (air is saturated) Orographic lifting: air is pushed over mountains.
