Poems in spanish that express love & end with aggressive/violent ideas. Culture has so much to do with violence. Hispanic culture -> romantic characteristic influenced history. Daughters of the forest -> film next wednesday. Forests were considered idle land & therefore needed to be put into production. Previously countries were given funding to clear forests & turn into productive land for agriculture. School where girls learn how to make money through the forest & to be able to see the business opportunities from rural tourism. Need to understand the context in which trying to empower girls. Fund smaller opportunities & businesses to help people. Banks do not like to lend money to the poor. Started seeing that some women progressed when given small loans. Some women overcame property & some didn"t. *domestic violence was prime reason why many women not allowed to progress. Non-profit organization, not part of government or organized religion.
