Document Summary
In the past we"ve considered experiments or associations with two variables. Ex: those who are more stressed out tend to have more depression (association) A single line or a bar graph can define a relation between two variables. Interaction = the relation between two variables changes depending on a third variable. Ex: the relation between stress and depression changes depending on the number of friends you have. If you don"t have many friends, the relation between stress and depression is. If you have a lot of friends, the relation between stress and depression is weak strong. - combined plots would look like this: < Depends on if it"s hot or cold. Two predictor variables: temperature (hot vs. cold) and type of food (ice cream vs. french fries) One outcome: how much you like the food. -combined plots: shows bar graph and line graph.
