One factor that would help decrease the risk of abuse being carried forward to the next generation is problem focused coping. This would help an individual address their issue and make steps towards resolving their trauma. Some methods would be going to therapy or counseling. Additionally, social support can have a big impact. It can be very helpful for a child who"s facing abuse to have social support, so they have someone to go to during such a hard time. Also, social support has been shown to be beneficial for parents, as they can receive help raising their kid and have assistance during stressful times.
