Document Summary
Many students don"t question their study methods until they get a disappointing exam score, so these suggestions are presented with that in mind. If you are reading them before the first exam, so much the better! Step 1 believe the projection and start making changes. A course grade projection will be provided after each of the first two exams is graded. Believe the projection; it is the best estimate we can give you. But do not let one low exam score or grade projection discourage you. Students do improve considerably (50+ points) by the next exam. Start making changes right away; continuing with the same strategy will probably yield the same grade. Start with an assessment of your current study methods, as described below. Step 2 ask yourself the following diagnostic questions. The standard recommendation is three hours of study per week, outside of class, for each credit hour. For biology 180, that would be 15 hours per week.
