Cultural relativism: some cognitive processes are specific to certain cultures. Cultural universality: some cognitive processes are not culturally specific. How it affects categorization: like if there are words for a certain activity that"s relevant to your culture, like skiing, you"ll categorize them differently than someone from a different culture (knowledge-based categorization varies by culture) Culture influences learning style: educational system, teacher-student relationship, family education, social attitude. Culture can be as small as a family or as big as a country. How culture affects memory recall: if a word on the list is something you"re unfamiliar with (like paella) then it will be harder to remember, but easier if you"re spanish b/c you know what it is.
