She has more relations with her daughter, persephone. Depicted as modest, old, veiled, and solemn. Different kind of mother-goddess than we normally encounter. Represented by her bond with her daughter. Snakes are the closest things to the earth. Credited with bringing farming to the greeks. Epitomized in 2 ways: the abduction of persephone, the eleusinian mysteries. In the underworld, it gets lonely you know with all the dead people. So hades went to zeus and told him how lonely he was (aka where my queenie at) Zeus helped plot a plan to get a wife->persephone (aka daughter of demeter) Persephone was picking flowers in a field and she grabbed the narcissus flower and the earth cracked open.
