Expansion of drug operations from urban areas. What do gangs and gang members look like: One of the most common types of gangs. Characterized by: a common territory, are aged-graded, typically all male often with female auxiliary groups, mostly ethic minorities (usually black and hispanic but often asian, example: baby spades (9-12), young spades (12-15), black spades (16- Often referred to as super-gangs and nations. These large groupings often consist of gangs with very little in common with one another other than their name and neighborhood. Usually include: divisions that cut across different neighborhoods, include youth in different age brackets, spread across cities, states, and even countries, examples: One of the most important distinguishing featurues of gangs continues to be that of territory, or turf. The notion of turf centers around identification and control (the most important) Hedonistic/social gangs- a group involved mainly in using drug and have a good time, with little involvement in crime, especially violent crime.
