Thoughts, feelings, actions from a certain group. How different groups interact with each other. Cultures have symbols and icons that are recognized by members of that particular cultural group. Studies the spatial variations among cultural groups and the spatial functioning of society. Understanding cultural processes, cultural landscapes and cultural identities. Created and changed by a group of people. Example: gay marriage (not everyone agrees with it), segregation. Patterned: people in culture live and think in describable ways. Arbitrary: not based on natural laws but created by humans (christianity) )nternalized: habitual, taken for granted, viewed as (cid:498)natural(cid:499) Mutually constructed through social interaction: dynamic process (we build them together) It changes all the time (ex: music styles) Symbolic: culture groups have shared meaning and understanding.
