o Case summary
▪ Wasn’t famous before the case, very famous after
▪ Very little forensic evidence
▪ Took 6 months to find the body
• Went missing in June or July, not found until December (2008)
• Took 31 days for her to report that her daughter was missing
▪ People were furious after the verdict
▪ First degree murder and aggravated manslaughter – what she was facing
• Aggravated manslaughter – daughter drowned in pool and they
were trying to cover it up “accidental”
▪ Just because someone is a liar, doesn’t mean they’re guilty
▪ Official cause of death is undetermined
▪ Everyone lived in the same house
