Anouncing local death, births, marriages, what"s for sale, etc. Money to newspapers for advertising is declining. Ads give newspapers of their revenue. So they make special sections, etc. to attract audiences they don"t. What"s going to happen to newspapers with development of internet? currently have. So far, they"ve merely complemented paper newspapers. Net news leads to decline in young people readership. Still tho, newspaper does stuff that other medias can"t. You know your audience will be interested in your ad. Your ad can be in some issues, but not others. Ex: you can put a mercedes ad in issues that go to zip codes with more money. Capital required is less than other media. Also consolidation, but ownership still very widely spread. Tend to be outside of the mainstream media.
