Actors now get huge percentages from profits of film. Also, if they have a big appeal internationally. So have a big star associated with it. More and more money made outside of us. Around the world american film most dominant. Big strong guy with big strong gun, killing people appeal everywhere. Hollywood films using more international stars lately. With jaws, high profile nationwide release on one day. Became powerful after old studio system ended. Agents make deals between all the different parts. Can stray from norms because not a lot of money on the line. Studios starting up divisions for indie films. Movie theater w/ more than one screen. Some screens can be used for indie films. Get money to make movie and distribute it.
