A person does not have to have sores to spread virus. Usually spread through sexual contact or from a mother to her child during child birth. You"re more likely to contract hsv-2 if: you"re female, unprotected sex with multiple partners, have a weakened immune system due to another disease, have another sti. Symptoms: sores or lesions occurring in the same place on the body; activated more under stress, when a person is sick, hormone changes, sun exposure, surgery; can go dormant. Symptoms: warts in the vaginal/penile/anal area, may not appear for months after encounter of virus. May cause cancer: mouth, throat, anal, penis. Getting hpv does not mean you get warts. Your body can fight off the virus within a few years. Can be passed from mother to child (rare) Preventative treatment: cervarix and gardasil given during time of puberty. Treatment: medication to get rid of warts, may not get rid of virus in your body.
