Chloroplasts and mitochondria are possibly a result of endosymbiosis. Both contain their own circular dna, and ribosomes. Er: rough- contains ribosomes and produce glycoproteins smooth- participates in the synthesis of lipids. Microtubulues- function in maintaining cell shape, motility, chromosome movement and movement of organelles. Micro laments- function in maintaining cell shape, motility by pseudopodia and cell division. Intermediate laments- maintain cell shape and positioning of organelles. Carbon is one of the most utilized elements due to it"s versatility (required by all cells)
