Mission statement = short narrative that describes the general focus or purpose of the program. Where the vision statement describes a future ideal condition, the mission statement clarifies the purpose of the program or what will be done through the program to achieve the vision. Example: the mission of aggie consulting livewell programs is to promote total well-being and health-related quality of life for employees. Identify funding levels and seek other support if necessary. Select and train staff, select facilities, develop schedules. Were people satisfied, did people attend, were materials useful. Impact = short term gains made by participants. Evaluate what participants have gained before or after. Outcome = long term, bottom-line objectives you want participants to gain. May not be achieved until a while later. Corporate culture - wellness must be built slowly and carefully. Favorable politics may need to be adjusted first.
